F. EUGENE ROMANO ‘45 and Hamilton College ‘49 has donated $1 million endowment for scholarships at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY The scholarships will be given to students in the Utica area who are interested in business and show a commitment to return to the Mohawk Valley once their education is complete. It is a part of a long-standing commitment to the Mohawk Valley. A few years ago he and two partners donated 895 acres in the Town of Webb (Old Forge area) to Utica College to recognize the contribution of outgoing president Michael Simpson. The gift is a way of helping Utica revitalize its business and industrial base. His belief is an investment in the college will ultimately benefit the entire Utica area.
